The workplace relations legal framework is increasingly complex to navigate.
It is critical that managers and HR professionals have are familiar with the key components of employment law in order to minimise legal risks for the organisation, as well as other risks such as impacts to brand, reputation and productivity and trust within the workforce.
This course is directed at providing an overview of the workplace relations systems to upskill managers and HR professionals to navigate these risks.
This training course covers:
- The Fair Work Act, minimum conditions including the National Employment Standards
- Understanding different modes of engagement including permanent, casual and fixed (maximum term)
- Key factors in preparing employment contracts
- Modern awards and how to vary the application of their terms (including enterprise agreements, individual flexibility arrangements and annualised wage arrangements)
- Independent contractors and the risks in these arrangements
- Unlawful workplace behaviours including sexual harassment, discrimination and bullying and what steps employers must take to prevent these behaviours in the workplace
- Risks associated with termination of employment and how to minimise these risks
