Mental Health in the Workplace Webinar

Recent developments in work health and safety regulations have emphasised the need for organisations to proactively identify psychosocial hazards and manage the corresponding risks, so far as is reasonably practicable.

Adopting a proactive approach serves not only to meet obligations under work health and safety legislation, but also in addressing intersecting obligations including:

  • The positive duty under the Sex Discrimination Act to take reasonable and proportionate measures to eliminate unlawful conduct
  • The impending Right to Disconnect under the Fair Work Act.

Critically, this goes beyond just fulfilling legal obligations and avoiding corresponding risks. By adopting a comprehensive, robust, proactive approach to managing psychosocial hazards, you can future-proof your workplace, ensuring it remains safe, productive and conducive to a thriving work environment and culture.

In this workshop, Georgie Chapman, Partner at HR Legal, together with Bri Hayllar, Senior Consultant – Organisational Psychologist from Transitioning Well, will explore:

  • Obligations under work health and safety regulations to identify psychosocial hazards
  • The importance of assessing and controlling risks associated with psychosocial hazards
  • The benefits of proactively managing psychosocial hazards
  • How to practically identify psychosocial hazards and corresponding risks
  • How to implement relevant intervention and management processes to address these risks
  • An exploration on how psychosocial hazard management intersects with the Right to Disconnect.

This training course will be conducted online and active participation is encouraged.
