HR Legal invites you and your colleagues to our upcoming seminar series on workplace bullying.

The anti-bullying landscape is set to change significantly in workplaces from 1 January 2014, with the Fair Work Commission being given a new jurisdiction over bullying complaints.

Employers already face significant fines under State-based Occupational Health & Safety law if they do not take steps to prevent bullying in their workplaces. From January 2014, however, the Fair Work Commission will be able to intervene in workplaces by making anti-bullying orders. These orders may be directed at the alleged bully, co-workers and employers, and may require, for example:

  • An employer to regularly monitor employee behaviour
  • Compliance with an employer’s workplace bullying policy
  • Support and training, or a review of an employer’s workplace bullying policy

Breaching a Commission order will attract civil penalties.

Our workshop will help you navigate the new anti-bullying jurisdiction and refresh on what your business should be doing to help protect itself against risk from bullying-related complaints. There will be time for round-table discussion and questions.
