From 1 July 2019, the Laws Amendment (Enhancing Whistleblower Protections) Act 2019 (Cth) (Act) came into effect. The Act makes important changes to the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) by providing greater protections to eligible whistleblowers who report wrongdoing in the corporate context.
In addition to legislative compliance, it is important for organisations to develop and maintain a culture of ethical conduct, and to foster an open environment where employees feel they can come forward to make a disclosure.
To achieve this, all levels of management play a critical role in demonstrating commitment to a proactive and positive workplace culture.
This webinar will cover:
- The Whistleblowing regime
- Criteria for protection as a whistleblower
- Disclosable matters
- Eligible recipients of a disclosure
