Skill shortages and the current labour market: Migration and Employment Law update

Description

Event Details

14 June 2022, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Employers across Australia, and particularly those in regional areas, are facing a job vacancy and skill shortage crisis, despite unemployment rates now falling below 4%.

Given the continued strength in demand and limited additional domestic supply of workers (including the slow recovery in inward migration), it is likely that wages growth will accelerate from here and employers will be forced to consider looking to hire overseas workers and other creative solutions to attract and retain talent.

On Tuesday 14 June 2022, Ethos Migration Lawyers and HR Legal will be running an in person seminar providing an update on migration and employment law changes and other visas options to assist employers in navigating the current labour market shortages.

This seminar will cover:

  • The current status of migration laws across Australia, including employer sponsored visas and recent changes to visa conditions
  • Employment law considerations when engaging overseas staff
  • Strategies to attract and retain talent, both locally and from overseas

This in person seminar offers the opportunity to have direct access to expert migration and employment lawyers as well as network with other employers and businesses. Complimentary lunch will also be provided.
