MythBusters Morning Series – October Edition

There are lots of ‘myths’ in Workplace Relations.

Join us for breakfast with Dan Feldman, Partner at HR Legal and Zandy Fell, Director of Zalt Group, to discuss and ‘bust’ employment law myths and provide you with practical information to assist you in understanding best HR practices.

The Myths discussed this month will be:

  • Myth 1 – An employee must prove they were bullied to bring a WorkCover stress claim. The fine line between bullying and genuine performance management. Can an employee under a performance management bring a WorkCover claim if they haven’t been bullied?
  • Myth 2 – How do you address “old” issues that come to the surface? An incident that occurred prior to the #MeToo Movement has resurfaced, or surfaced for the first time: How do you address old issues that never really blew over?
  • Myth 3 – What happens outside of work isn’t relevant to employment. If an employee is charged for conduct outside of work what can employers do?
  • Myth 4 – If you are doing your job you cannot be personally liable? What are some of the personal liability factors that can arise for leaders/managers in the workplace.

Join us at of offices in South Yarra over breakfast and find out the reality behind each myth.
