On 1 December 2025, the Occupational Health and Safety (Psychological Health) Regulations 2025 came into effect in Victoria, marking a significant shift for employers.
The Regulations require employers to identify psychosocial hazards and, so far as is reasonably practicable, control the associated risks. They provide greater clarity and set higher expectations for compliance, aligning Victoria’s framework with similar regulations introduced across other Australian states and territories.
In light of these changes, it is now more important than ever for employers to ensure their systems, policies and training are aligned with the updated legal framework and more stringent reporting requirements.
