Description

Event Details

3 April 2020, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

The Fair Work Act was not written with COVID-19 in mind, and there are unprecedented situations facing employers.  This webinar will help answer some of the main employment law issues including understanding stand down and partial stand down, when paid leave is available, working from home, and how the Australian Government’s JobKeeper program works. We will also discuss some best practice ideas to support staff during this time.

The webinar will cover:

Practical considerations and legal obligations for employers, including:

  • Redundancy vs stand down
  • How “partial” stand down works
  • Can employees use “paid leave” during stand down – for example to look after children with schools and child care centres closed
  • How “JobKeeper” works
  • Employees who refuse to perform available work – including because they have safety concerns
  • Working from home arrangements for employees
  • Health and safety considerations at work

This webinar will be presented by Dan Feldman, Managing Partner at HR Legal.

Our webinars are delivered free and online, we encourage questions from participants at any time during the webinar. We also run polls and questionnaires to keep you engaged and interacting.
